Thistle Bird Feeders.....are made for smaller birds and are perfect for thistle/nyjer seed. Thistle feeders have very small openings (ports) to accomodate the smaller beaks of these birds: goldfinches, house finches, purple finches, juncos, siskins, doves, house sparrows, native sparrows, and towhees.
Nyjer seed feeders should be be cleaned often because the seed will mold easily and has a limited shelf life. When buying a thistle feeder, gauge the number of birds that will be feeding at your feeder and buy the best length.
