Use black oil sunflower seed, safflower seed or sunflower meats alone or mixed together. As a mix, these seeds attract cardinals, chickadees, finches, goldfinches, grosbeaks, juncos, nuthatches, sparrows, titmice and more. Note: Do not use striped sunflower seed because it is generally too large to fit through the feeding slot.
